# Math Formula Support Is Now Available Across Labii ELN

Scientific documentation is full of equations. From simple calculations to complex mathematical models, researchers routinely need to document formulas as part of their experiments, protocols, analyses, and reports.

Surprisingly, something this basic is still missing from most of ELN platforms.

Researchers often have to type equations as plain text, paste them as images, or learn platform-specific syntax and workarounds. This makes scientific documentation less intuitive and creates unnecessary friction for something researchers should be able to do naturally.

Based on requests from our users, **Labii now provides built-in math formula support in Labii ELN and anywhere rich-text input is available.**

### Write Equations Visually — No LaTeX Knowledge Required

Labii's formula editor provides a visual interface for creating mathematical expressions. Users can select numbers, operators, fractions, roots, powers, Greek letters, functions, and other mathematical symbols directly from the editor.

For example, creating an equation such as:

\\\[ x^2 + y^2 = z^2 \\]

doesn't require remembering special commands or manually writing LaTeX code. Simply build the equation using the visual formula editor and insert it into your scientific documentation.

For advanced users who are already comfortable with mathematical notation, the underlying formula capabilities still provide the flexibility needed for more sophisticated expressions.

### Available Throughout Labii Rich-Text Documentation

Math formulas are not limited to a special equation field. They are integrated directly into Labii's rich-text editing experience.

This means researchers can include equations naturally alongside text, tables, images, experimental results, and other scientific content. Formula support can be used in **ELN experiment documentation, protocols and SOPs, reports, observations, results, notes, and other areas that use Labii's rich-text editor.**

Instead of treating equations as separate attachments or images, formulas become part of the scientific record itself.

### Built in Response to User Feedback

Labii has always been designed around a simple principle: **scientific software should adapt to how researchers work—not force researchers to adapt to the software.**

Math formula support came directly from user requests. Although equation editing may seem like a small feature compared with larger ELN and LIMS capabilities, small usability improvements can make a meaningful difference when researchers use the platform every day.

Rather than asking users to install an additional module or purchase an add-on, we have made this capability **available to all Labii users at no additional cost.**

### Better Tools for Scientific Documentation

An ELN should make it easy to document science in the form scientists actually use.

Equations are a fundamental part of that language.

With Labii's integrated math formula editor, researchers can now create professional mathematical expressions directly within their ELN documentation—without leaving Labii, creating equation images, or relying on cumbersome workarounds.

**One more small barrier removed from scientific documentation.**
