A reference management is a tool used by researchers to organize and manage their references for research papers, theses, and other scholarly works. It enables users to import references from different sources such as databases, libraries, and search engines, and create bibliographies in various citation styles.
Reference management software is a valuable tool for authors, scholars, and other researchers. It allows them to easily keep track of bibliographic citations and manage project references, both as individuals and as part of a team. In the pharmaceutical industry, accurate referencing is paramount to verifying facts and creating concrete procedures and findings in the laboratory.
Labii is committed to making the work lives of scientists easier and more transparent through their Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) and Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). Our most recent development is focused on reference management and continues to make strides towards improving processes for researchers.
PubMed is a free search engine which provides primary access to the MEDLINE database of references and abstracts on life sciences and biomedical topics. The database is maintained by the United States National Library of Medicine at the National Institutes of Health as part of the Entrez system of information retrieval. In addition to being used to document new scientific data, Labii Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) and Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) can now help you managed the published papers from PubMed.
By using the API and PubMed Abstract widget in Labii, you can easily configure Labii as a reference management.
Labii has developed an API widget that allows users to easily integrate 3rd party APIs with their databases. This widget enables users to automate the process of populating data into columns, allowing them to quickly and efficiently access data from external sources.
The PubMed Abstract widget displays the abstract of a paper. If it is not already stored in the database, it will automatically be downloaded and saved for retrieval.
Column | Widget | Description |
PMID | API | PubMed id |
journal | Text | Journal title |
volume | Number | Journal volume |
issue | Number | Journal issue |
pages | Text | Journal pages |
authors | Text | The authors |
pubdate | Text | Published date |
pmc | Text | PMC id |
doi | Text | DOI |
full_text_link | Text | Link of full text |
In order to use the Reference Management in Labii, you must first install the Reference Management application or tasks table. If Reference Management application is selected when creating the account, then this step can be skipped.
Select Applications from Settings -> Applications
Click Add application and select Add from a template
Choose Reference Management from the pop-out modal. A lack of such an option indicates that you have already installed it.
Labii is a research platform that offers a comprehensive reference management feature for users. The platform includes various widgets, such as API and PubMed, that automatically extract relevant information from articles and populate fields such as author names, publication dates, and journal titles. Additionally, the platform offers a Files widget that allows users to attach full-text documents to their references, and a Notes function that allows researchers to take notes within their references. Labii's reference management feature streamlines the research process and makes it easier for researchers to organize their materials and stay on top of their research. To learn more, schedule a meeting with Labii representatives (https://call.skd.labii.com) or create an account (https://www.labii.com/signup/) to try it out yourself.
